I'm Megan, and I'm a good 'ol Canadian gal. I'm twenty two years old, and I live in New Brunswick. I work as a Medical Secretary with plans to attend Northern Maine Community College in the Fall of 2012 to become a paramedic.
Each fall I'll be hunting upland game and whitetails, and if I'm lucky enough to get drawn for a tag, I'll be out for moose too.
I love hockey, and I'm a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs (don't hate me). For the past six years, I've been a volunteer at the World Pond Hockey Championship here in Plaster Rock, New Brunswick as a game monitor (referee).
Last year, my big thing was going out on a two day pheasant hunt with a local outfitter. I've always wanted to do some wingshooting, and now I've knocked it off of my bucket list, and for a decent price too. Also, I've taken up shooting skeet and trap. I absolutely LOVE breaking clays and I find it therapeutic after a long day at work.
This year, my big thing is going out for Spring Turkey. Without a season here in New Brunswick, I travelled to Maine for a week to hunt with an outfitter in Brownville. I had two tags to fill, but with poor weather and my desire only to shoot a tom - not a jake - I came home empty handed.
Recently I've taken up guiding at the same pheasant preserve I hunt. I absolutely love taking sports out in the field and watch them shoot birds on the wing. Sometimes it's their first experience with wingshooting, and that makes it even sweeter. Of course, you can't beat working over some fine Brittany's either!
