I got out to check cams and set up another one. The one cam showed several does and two bucks. This one looks like he might get wide but I do not see
any points coming up yet. I hope to get more pics of him in the next few weeks.

I am so smart! Well maybe not so smart. Last Friday I set out my video set up on a foodplot to see what is using it now. I have a HD cam and five
motion sensors set on the edge where they enter the plot. It was very windy for a few days and the ferns tripped the camera and used up the tape and
battery in two hours. Maybe the clover would trip it too but i won't cut that. Maybe set the sensors a little higher too.
I need to get back and trim some ferns. I did this once a month ago but a few have grown up since then.
I set out two more cameras on National Forest to see what is happening. The one other cam out there has not been doing much.
I rarely get any big bucks on camera at this time of year, just a lot of does, fawns and small bucks. Lots of land and food on the Nat. Forest at
this time of year. Tough to pattern. As a friend of mine says. Everything out there is food for them.

That's happened to us all at some point. Frustrating when it happens. At least there is a couple of different rememdies you can do. Hope you get a
cool surprise the next time you revisit your setup

I am out of it for a whyile. We started a new project last week doing some burning and saw work. Twelve hour days until done but today I got sick at
work with dehydration and pain in my hips and back. Pain is from an old injury and age and carrying the fire pack all day.
Not sure if there is anything else but either way getting out to cams is off for a while.
Feel like crap. Came home early and might miss tomorrow if not better. I always worry about erlichiosis or Lyme disease since I have had both before.

Well it's one thing after another! After feeling sick all summer and getting dehydrated I also have been having joint pains. Knee, lower back,
elbows.
I finally, after much procrastination, went to see a Doc. I ended up with a PA that said I only aggravated an old injury.I asked why I felt lousy with
all those symptoms and low energy. I was told, probably no Lyme disease but had a blood test done anyway.
They did not call me with results when they said they would so today I called them. The nurse told me I definitely have Lyme disease. This is the
third time for me to have Lyme. Doxycycline for three weeks for me. But at least I will feel well again. In time for hunting.
I have not felt like doing anything. I like to ride bike, road and mountain for exercise and fun but have not done much this summer. I hope to get
back to it soon.

At this rate you'll be the foremost Lyme disease expert in the country. Sorry, I shouldn't joke about it as I'm sure it's no fun to deal with. Any
of your other guys get it like you have? Glad to hear you found the problem though and you can get this fixed in time for this fall.

O.K. I am feeling lousy. On doxycycline. Missed the camera school BUT I did race in the Firehouse 50 road bike race. I am a founder so I do not want
to miss it. I now do the individual time trial. Which means I ride alone, no drafting for 50 miles.
I finished five minutes faster than I did last year, do not know why since I have not been riding much with work and being sick. The antibiotics side
effects are among pother thing, diarrhea. I felt like filling the diapers 3/4 of the way through but I made it.
Can't wait to get over this and get back out checking cams. I did set one out today.

Congrats on the race. Would have loved to have you at the school, but totally understand your reasoning for not coming. Maybe next year it will work
out for you.

O.K. so I better get back to shootin' the boy 'eh?
A bit shakey but doing fair since I did not shoot winter leagues this last winter and not much this summer. Unusual for me.
Well, I was hitting the spot at thirty yards when I shot my last arrow I heard the "click"! Yep, smoked another one. Robin Hood two Carbon express.
OUCH! I have enough of those in my living room and do not need another.

Finally a decent buck. Not a monster but at least I have one on cam now.
I set out a few more cams this weekend so I hope to locate something. I jumped a 6x6 elk when sneaking around today, got to about thirty yards before
he ran off. Heavy under brush kept me from seeing him sooner.
I usually do not see many bug bucks on cam since this is deep forest and everything is food so they are hard to locate and get consistent pics. This
photo is near a gravel road however and a couple of bear baits nearby with hound running a lot right now.

I give up. Again tonight shooting bow at 30 yards in my back yard on the last shot I got another robin hood. Once a week is getting kind of hard on
the bank account. Carbon Express Max Hunters.
Maybe I just should not shoot that last arrow

Nice shooting! I think you should invest in an 18-1 Rinehart. Takes care of the robin hood issues, with all those sides to shoot

shoot a five spot target that would help, if you can hit them you can get it in the boiler room on a big buck.

Today is the first full day off doxycycline and I am feeling much
better. I hope the Lyme is gone! I do have tendonitis in the elbow that I get when I run saws a lot like we were last month. Not much can be done but
the Doc said rest and ice are good. I did get a shot a cortisone, not that I like the stuf but it feels better. Two weeks of rest on it she said and I
should be good. Shooting the bow should not hurt, could save on arrows though

I went out to check one cam and did a dumb thing. Hot weatrher so I wore shorts thinking that I was only retrieving one cam. I found a funnel to set
the cam and when I was doing that I noticed my legs were covered with more skeeters then I have ever seen before.
I was careful in scent control even though I had shorts but those skeeters stopped my going to scout anothe funnel and place another cam. I will go
back in the morning for that spot. WITH PANTS!
